HYPER-
PIGMENTATION

Reduce unwanted sun damage and brown spots with the powerful Cynosure Elite laser

REVEAL CLEARER, MORE EVEN LOOKING SKIN

Sun damage and age spots can be caused by many different factors, but most commonly UV exposure and ageing. In addition, those suffering with breakouts may be left with stubborn post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation they want to be rid of. With Cynosure’s innovative laser treatments, you can remove these unwanted dark spots in just a few quick treatments.

HOW IT WORKS

The light energy from the laser converts to heat once absorbed by the excess melanin. This breaks down the pigment before it is disposed of by the lymphatic system.

  • We apply the treatment then rely on the body’s lymphatic system to break down the pigment. At times, the body may be sluggish in doing so or the melanin too strong. Multiple sessions are at times essential to achieve the desired outcome.

  • The pigment will likely get darker after treatment and even more so as it rises to the surface of the skin. Once it reaches the surface it sloughs away as part of the skin’s natural cell turnover, revealing normal coloured skin underneath.

  • After your course of laser treatment, the pigment should not return, so long as you keep the area protected with SPF50 any time it is exposed to UV rays. Failure to do so may result in the excess pigment returning.

  • Most people experience a mild, sun-burn like sensation, possibly accompanied by some minor swelling, immediately following the treatment. This usually lasts 2 to 24 hours.
