VASCULAR LESIONS

Quick and effective removal of vascular deformities using a grade 4 medical laser

Vascular lesions are a common skin concern, affecting up to 50% of people aged 18 years and older. Thread veins, diffused redness, cherry angiomas and other vascular concerns can appear for a number of reasons including the ageing process, weight gain, smoking, alcohol consumption, genetics, hormonal changes (e.g. pregnancy), standing for prolonged amounts of time, and sun exposure.

Laser technology has become an important factor in the treatment of vascular deformities, and the Cynosure Elite grade 4 laser is one of the most effective at targeting these concerns while sparing the surrounding skin.

FAQs

  • Treatments are virtually painless and will vary patient to patient. Patients describe a range of sensations during treatment from tingling to the snapping of a rubber band.

  • It is best to wait at least 24 hours before applying makeup.

  • No. Please wait until you have given birth/are no longer breastfeeding until you undergo any laser treatments.

  • Treatments can take from just 5-60 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated.

  • Some lesions may disappear after one treatment, though we must wait 4 weeks to determine if further treatments are needed. Usually, no more than 3 treatments will be required.

  • We apply the treatment then rely on the body’s lymphatic system to break down the vascular target. At times, the body may be sluggish in doing so or the vessel too strong. Multiple sessions are at times essential to achieve the desired outcome.

  • The vascular lesion will likely turn dark red and occasionally black before fading away. At times, the vessel may disappear immediately after being hit with the laser.

  • After your course of laser thread vein removal the veins removed tend to not reoccur. However, sometimes new veins can appear in other areas of the body which might require treatment. It also depends on the reason why you have the thread veins in the first place. For example, standing for prolonged amounts of time, if this is continued after your course of treatment you will be at risk of new thread veins occurring again.
